The Beginning
This journal will be kept as a detailed explanation of my experiences with topics related but not limited to phasing, out of body experiences (OBE), focus, meditation, Monroe Institute audio assistants, and those of the like relating to paranormal. Specifically the purpose is in order to track and keep record of all experiences with the aforementioned in order to compare to current events and display to others who may learn or find entertainment from it's contents.

Or whatever else I feel like.

To start, I am a 21 year old male, 5'10", slim build, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, fair skin, caucasian descent. I have a stable diet largely comprised of meat, grains, and dairy. I eat two, sometimes three, meals a day at varying hours. I wake at 11:00AM every morning unless scheduled to wake earlier.

For the last seven years I have been interested in the paranormal, specifically relating to the brain and topics such as OBE, remote viewing, hypnosis, and telekenesis. Around age 14 I experimented with hypnosis books taken from the library, to which I learned much about the brain. I believe one day I successfully hypnotized my sister, who states she fell asleep during the experiment and woke up at my verbal request but was in no way hypnotized. She did not remember her dream at the time of waking. I also made personal tapes to which I listened to in bed, designed to assist with learning about past lives, remote viewing, and out of body experiences. I recall there was a side effect of dizziness and a sense of being generally unsure and confused during my waking hours; It was suggested to me to be a possible side effect of the tapes, however could have easily been a side effect of a lack of sleep.

Three years ago I began studying Robert Monroe, and through the guidance of online forums was directed towards alternatives of his practices, known as Phasing. Under instruction of people claiming to be practiced at this, I practiced the techniques with no confident conclusion. The only event of note was while listening to an audio form called pink noise, I heard what seemed to be a whale for approximately five seconds. There was no whale recorded in the audio.

Two years ago I obtained audio recordings created by Robert Monroe and the Monroe Institute. There are six 'waves' containing a variable amount of sessions which have the purpose to teach and guide one towards expanding the mind and consciousness using a technology called 'Hemi-Sync' which is short for 'Hemispheric Synchronization.' The basis being that in order to coax the brain in to the desirable state, two slightly different tones are created in each ear and the brain attempts to synchronize them creating a wave pattern that is audiable. In this state one is supposed to be more prone towards such experiences such as OBE and phasing, given that other conditions both internal and external are assisting.

Since obtaining the Hemi-Sync recordings, I have been using them in a sporadic sense due to impatience and confidence. The results have been less than hoped for. My experiments are usually done at night while under the influence of strong emotion, specifically hope and excitement. I meditate in the living room on the couch, which is extremely comfortable; However it requires preparation in order to become completely comfortable as the length of the couch is not completely accommodating to my height. There is a gas fireplace which has a pilot light and two windows that usually have the blinds drawn. They lead to a back yard with no road, however lights from the road on the side of the building can sometimes be seen through them.

Under the intent to finally master the lessons in the Hemi-Sync recordings, I plan to start from the beginning and preform in the most ideal conditions. These are as follows: Listening ten minutes or so in the morning after waking; Completely finishing with one lesson before moving on to the next; With no expectations; To record the experiences of each session; To preform every morning without fail, taking in to consideration any early morning plans to be met with an earlier session schedule. I will begin as soon as I feel I can carry out these instructions.
